In 1947, India got independence and from 1947 to 2018 India is still a developing country. The lack of sanitation is the important force which was opposing the progress of our country. On 2^nd October 2014, the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in order to make India one of the most beautiful and royal places in the world.

On the 2^nd October 2014, our Prime Minister has stated that the mission of this Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is to make our country clean till 2^nd October 2019 so that we can give tribute to the Mahatma Gandhi on his 150^th Birthday Anniversary.

As of August 2018, this Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has become one of the most successful campaigns which are launched by the government of the India. Recently reports have stated that more than 49.62 million people have built toilets due to the awareness spread by this campaign. More than 250,00 villages in the India have declared themselves as the defecation-free.

Since the last decades, the pollution level in the Ganga has reached the utmost level. Vikas has been cleaning the Ganga river form more than 10 years. He has implemented many innovative ideas that became successful while cleaning Ganga.

Due to his hard work, the river Ganga has gained its previous royal heritage in the last few years in some proportion. In the upcoming years, it is expected that he will clean the Ganga completely.

Mr. Vikas Chanda has received many awards due to his efforts in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

VistaapKharas:

VistaapKharas is one of the most prominent interior designers in the Mumbai. Three years back, he was driving his luxurious car and while driving, he noticed that one person throw the empty plastic bottle on the road. This incident changed his perspective towards cleaning and started his organization which cleans the roads on the daily basis. He stops people form throwing waste on the ground as well as aware them about the harmful effects of throwing garbage on the roads.

Gagan Nandi:

Gagan Nandi is another superstar of this Swachh Bharat Abhiyan who really made an impact on the thousands of lives of people in the Bangalore. He used the social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram to aware the people and convey that cleanliness is next to godliness. He started a social media campaign, “SwachhaBasavanagudi”. Later, he declared the motto of the campaign as the “6 wards, 6 weeks”. This movement was started in 2014 and received a huge response of the local people. Basically, under this movement they clean every ward of the Basavanagudi each and every Sunday.

Jodie Underhill:

Jodie was born in UK but raised in the India. He started cleaning the regions near Himalaya a few years ago. Initially, no one was with him for the cleaning of roads and various areas in the Himalaya. Later, many good people teamed with him and they worked brilliantly as the team. Before cleaning any area, Jodie plans everything and then just execute his plans. He also gives knowledge and information about the management and segregation of waste to his teammates. He was so serious about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan that he provided gloves, dust bins and other equipment to the people while the regions of the Himalaya.

Afroz Shah:

Afrox Shas has received a huge appreciation from the Mr. Narendra Modi. He is a lawyer by profession and showed his interest in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by cleaning the Versova Beach in the Mumbai. Almost every citizen near the Versova Beach area knows his name. Several Bollywood actors also helped the Shah in his cleanliness drives. He motivates everyone to participate in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and believes that sanitation is more important than political freedom. He along with his team has managed to collect over 4,000 tons of the waste from the Versova Beach. He knocks every door and request them t participate in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Rama Mali:

Rama is a 102-years old woman and she has been involved in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan since she was 100 years old. She is promoting this Abhiyan through pamphlets. She is a real source ofinspiration for all those people who are really not taking part in this noble act. If you are felling lazy or just ignoring your national duties, just learn from this102-years old woman.
